FRIDAY NIGHT HEADLINER

There were many pseudo-hippie, jam-oriented blues rockers in New York during the early ’90s, but only the Spin Doctors made it big. And they made it big because not only could they immerse themselves in a groove, they also had concise pop skills. “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes” were cleverly written singles, full of clean, blues-inflected licks and ingratiating pop melodies. Pocket Full of Kryptonite had been around for nearly a year when MTV and radio began playing “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” but once they started playing it, they couldn’t stop. The Spin Doctors became an overnight sensation, selling millions of albums around the world.

Spin Doctors’ first album in 12 years is at once a bold leap for a legendary band and the sound
of a group truly revitalized. Marking their debut on new label home and iconic major Capitol
Records, Face Full of Cake finds the alt-rock veterans in top form with an abundance of hooks
in their arsenal and the warm, funky sound that longtime fans have come to expect from them.
The record truly marks a new era for Spin Doctors, and with a blockbuster summer tour on the
horizon and new bassist Jack Daley in tow, it’s impossible not to catch the thrilling feeling that
this 35 years strong-and-running crew is, despite their wealth of experience, just getting started.
Face Full of Cake marks the quartet’s return after 2013’s If the River Was Whiskey.

Indeed, Spin Doctors have been on a journey for the last three-and-a-half decades, and they
show no signs of stopping—and as Schenkman points out, Face Full of Cake feels like a true
full-circle moment in regards to their starmaking 1991 record Pocket Full of Kryptonite. “The
moment that we walked into the room, there was plenty of reasons to believe it wouldn’t work—
but as soon as we played three notes, we knew we had it,” he says. “The same thing happened
with this record. There’s a lot of joy emanating from all of us in this band.”

SATURDAY NIGHT HEADLINER

Alien Ant Farm formed in 1995 and has since sold over 5 million albums, earned a Grammy nomination, and scored 4 Top 10 singles. They rose to fame with the hit cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” which reached #1 in Australia and New Zealand, #3 in the UK, and topped U.S. modern rock charts. The band toured extensively with acts like Linkin Park, Papa Roach, and Metallica, and gained strong MTV and TV support, making them a staple of early 2000s rock.

Their debut album Greatest Hits (1999) won Best Independent Album at the L.A. Music Awards. Their major label debut Anthology (2001) brought worldwide attention. Despite label setbacks, they pushed forward, sharing unreleased music like 3rd Draft and releasing Up In The Attic in 2006. After a brief hiatus, they reunited in 2009 and have continued performing and recording since.

Known for clever visuals and explosive live shows, the band credits their longevity to passion, persistence, and loyal fans. As of 2014, they’ve partnered with The End Records to usher in a new chapter, staying true to their high-energy, emotionally honest sound.
